A red carpet is traditionally used to mark the route taken by heads of state on ceremonial and formal occasions,
and has in recent decades been extended to use by VIPs and celebrities at formal events.
The tradition of red carpet was first recorded in the ancient Greek story of Agamemnon in 485 BC when he returned from Troy.
He was welcomed by his wife Clytemnestra with a red color path.
However, Agamemnon declined because he felt only Gods was worthy to be greeted with that type of luxury.
That concept has changed since then where in modern times. Red carpet and protocolary red carpet runners are
used in the events that are usually attended by heads of states, officials, and nowadays by stars, celebrities of VIPs.
